Position Title: Estimator/Advisor

Job Description:

Collision estimators guide customers through the process of getting their vehicle repaired when their car has been damaged or involved in a collision. They act as the liaison between the customer and insurance company to ensure the repair process goes smoothly and is completed properly. The estimator will analyze the car, discuss the damage with the customer and will differentiate between the damage related to the accident and unrelated prior damage. It’s their role to be the voice of the company and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills every step of the way.  

Reports to: Body Shop Manager, Production Manager

Pay: $50,000 - $90,000

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect vehicles for damages, evaluate necessity, and cost of repairs; this includes scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and tow-in vehicles on the property
  • Create accurate estimates that detail repair and labor costs
  • Communicate with customers the damages, repair process, timeline, and costs
  • Place work orders detailing part replacements and repairs and enter into CCC One, Ed Voyles work management system
  • Complete proper check-in:
  • Walk around vehicle & complete check-in inspection (this includes physical capabilities such as kneeling, bending, walking, etc.)
  • Outline and discuss any questionable, unrelated damage
  • Take proper photos of the four corners, front and back, and specific areas of the inside of the car for check-in
  • Maintain communication with customer and be available to answer questions throughout the repair process via various communication outlets
  • Keep record of repair details and complete necessary paperwork
  • Maintain an accurate repair file jacket throughout the repair
  • Keep in-process vehicles & total loss vehicles organized in CCC One management system and on the lot
  • Process all DRP assignments according to DRP guidelines
  • Efficiently manage multiple repairs simultaneously
  • This includes scheduled and unscheduled repair orders to maximize shop performance
  • Maintain 100% compliance with DRP and other insurance procedures
  • Implement an effective quality control check process by inspecting repaired vehicles and ensuring the repair is up to standard before delivery
  • Pre-close completed vehicle files prior to delivery of vehicle
  • Ensure final bills are prepared prior to delivery of vehicle and confirm payments with customer and insurance company
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times and create ongoing relationships with customers 
  • Assists in collecting accounts receivable balances

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Working knowledge of CCC estimating system
  • Knowledge of vehicle parts and repairs
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Be able to pass drug test
